A sign of things to come? U2

We all expected U2’s to drop this fall. Then we receive some piece of bad news. The release has been pushed back to early 2009.
According to the band’s official statement, the band will continue to write and record material in the south of France until early next year.
They have also confirmed the news via an official statement from Bono and the boys on their official website.
According to the official statement, “This is our chance for us to defy gravity once again. We have what it takes, we have the songs, new rhythms and a guitar player who is not ready to re-enter earth’s atmosphere until he’s taken a slice of the moon!”
He adds, “It’s been fun, it’s been maddening’ there have been injuries and recoveries, no babies born that I know of, but this one is nearly ready for the new year of 2009.”
The new album will be a follow up to their 2004 How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.

Tokio Hotel Snag Best New Artist Over Miley and Katy

Tokio Hotel sure know how to make an entrance. The band turned heads left and right when they rolled up to the VMA red carpet in style this past weekend on a decked out monster truck blasting their single “Monsoon.” After admitting that they didn’t expect to take home a moon man, Tokio Hotel were shocked when Chace Crawford and Lauren Conrad announced their name as the winner of Best New Artist beating out the likes of Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Check out this week’s Episode of Tokio Hotel TV for a behind the scenes look at the band’s VMA experience including their reaction to the win backstage and star studded photos from the night.
